EU names the Philippines' Communist NPA a terrorist organization

The Foreign Minister of the Philippines today announced that EU has adopted a position to list NPA as a terrorist group.

NPA is an army led by Philippines’ Communist Party, but its leader and close associates are now living in exile in Holland. Listed as a terrorist group, NPA will be unable to secure funding from overseas. NPA leaders’ capital and assets will be frozen by EU member states, which will also not shelter those leaders in exile.

The EU Council reached this resolution after the Philippines' Foreign Minister visited Brussels. The US and Australia have already announced that CPP-NPA is a terrorist organization.
