[Los Cabos, Mexico] President Bush made headway here at the APEC summit in an effort to gain support to stop North Korea’s nuclear weapons program, as leaders of South Korea and Japan stood by the US position to dismantle North Korea's nuclear weapons.

However, this joint statement came short of any military action or threat to Pyongyang if it fails to comply with demands. Powell said, “We have no intention of invading North Korea or taking hostile action against North Korea.”
