Killing viewed as victory over terrorism

Bangalore -- Five people wanted in connection with a bomb attack on the offices of a hardline Hindu organization have been shot dead in an early morning gun battle. Thirteen police officers were also injured in the clash.
The heavily armed raid was planned well in advance, and is a major victory over terrorism, a police spokesman said.
There is much speculation that the leader of the five, Imam Ali, who escaped from a court in Madras earlier this year, had links to Muslim militant groups wanted for bomb attacks across south India.
