Kashmir -- Ruthless attacks by militants to protest the elections continue in Indian-administered Kashmir. Another 8 people have been killed, and more than 20 injured while the third round of polling is being prepared.

To attract more voters, the State Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and his son Omer Abdullah undertook a whirlwind helicopter tour addressing election rallies.

Indian officials report a 40% turnout during the first two rounds, despite extreme violence.

The third round of elections is being held Tuesday.
