China and Cambodia Talks
9/26/2002 11:31:00 AM

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia -- Fu Quanyou, China’s Chief of General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) met with Cambodia's acting head of state and President of the Senate, Chea Sim, and Prime Minister Hun Sen, separately on Wednesday.

Thunderstorms may dampen the visit, but Fu is determined to make best use of the 5-day visit to help expand military cooperation and strengthen the friendship between the two countries and the two armies.

Cambodia has been most agreeable to China over the years despite that it still relies heavily on China for economic support, as it is the poorest county in East Asia.
