No plans for India-Pakistan talks during UN assembly
"I would like to repeat the considered opinion of the Government of India that the climate for resumption of dialogue is not conducive," said an External Affairs spokesperson. She emphasized that a "permanent and visible" end to infiltration and infrastructure of terrorism in Pakistan has to be dismantled "before we can consider resumption of dialogue."
Official sources said Vajpayee will leave for New York on September 9 to arrive in time to participate in the public memorial services on September 11, which marks one year since the audacious terror strikes in the US.
He is likely to meet US President George W. Bush on September 12 and address the UNGA the next day. He is slated to leave New York on September 15.
