New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said there was no move to replace Narendra Modi as chief minister of Gujarat. The decision was taken at the BJP's Parliamentary Board which met in New Delhi today. "We had a discussion, there is no proposal to change the leadership of Gujarat at this juncture," BJP president Venkaiah Naidu told reporters after the meeting. The BJP's decision came after former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had stirred a controvery early this week saying Modi should have been replaced when Gujarat was hit by the worst religious riots. Vajpayee had also said that the riots could be one of the reasons for the party's defeat in the elections.
