Kashmiri girls excel in cricket

Srinagar: Women cricket flourishes in Kashmir, marking the changing face of women in the otherwise conservative Muslim dominated society in the region. With militancy-related incidents showing a sharp downturn, the women have found a new voice and are increasingly making their presence felt in the region. A cricket association in Srinagar organised an inter-district tournament to encourage more Kashmiri women to join the popular sport. The girls in the valley are happy.
