GAIL commissions 610 km pipeline in record 14 months

New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited has commissioned of the Dahej-Vijaipur pipeline (DVPL) project. From Vijaipur onwards, the existing Hazira-Vijaipur-Jagdishpur (HVJ) network of GAIL will supply re-gasified LNG to consumers along the route till Delhi. The 610 km pipeline from Dahej to Vijaipur has been constructed at a cost of Rs 2936 crore in a record 14 months against the earlier schedule of 33 months. The 42-inch diameter pipeline has the capacity to transport 23 million cubic metres of natural gas daily, according to company press release.
