Powell to visit Pakistan in March

Islamabad: United States Secretary of State Colin Powell will visit Pakistan this month for talks with President Pervez Musharraf on nuclear proliferation and the war against terrorism, an official said Friday. 'The US secretary of state will be here from March 17 to 18 and he will meet President Musharraf,' the Pakistani government official told on condition of anonymity. Powell's visit comes amid a stepped-up hunt for Osama bin Laden in border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan and in the wake of US media reports that US forces will be deployed on Pakistani soil.
