New Delhi: The nation is on a high alert on the eve of Republic Day. The Capital has been put under a multi-layered security blanket. In Srinagar, there is an increased security presence in view of threat from various militant outfits. The city has been put under high security alert and looks like a military garrison. Meanwhile, security forces on Sunday recovered 20 kilograms of RDX, besides a huge cache of arms and ammunition, from a militant hideout at Gantamulla in North Kashmir. In Assam, preparations for the R-Day celebrations have been overshadowed by security concerns, with the ULFA calling for a boycott of Monday's events.
