U.S. pledges continued support to Nepal

Kathmandu: US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca, who is on a four-day visit to Nepal, has pledged US support to Nepal's fight against Maoist insurgency but expressed concern over human rights violations in the country. Ms Rocca, who met Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa at his office yesterday, informed about her government's concern over increasing instances of human rights abuses by the security forces.
