New Delhi: Canada's Prime Minister-designate Paul Martin has said India is emerging as an economic superpower, and will along with China, pose a challenge to the United States in the near future. "Within a generation, the United States will not be the lone economic superpower. India and China are already accelerating global competition, shaking the foundations of the world economy," Martin was quoted as saying in his maiden speech after assuming the leadership of Canada's ruling Liberal Party in Toronto.
