[Manila, July 27, 2003] 296 hundred soldiers and officers waged a coup attempt on July 27 in Manila, demanding the President and Defense Minister to resign. These rebellious soldiers confronted the military troops that are loyal to the government for 18 hours before they finally ended the crisis in peace.

The rebellious soldiers agreed to return to their military camps and await a military court trial. It was reported that these soldiers have installed bombs around a high-end shopping center.
