[Hong Kong, May 8, 2003] As the SARS situation deteriorates, a spokesperson from the Hong Kong government stated that it has hired the New York based Burson-Marsteller public relations firm to regain the publicís confidence in Hong Kong. The deal will include 1.3 million HK dollars and a strategy to promote Hong Kongís public image. As one of the biggest commercial centers in Asia, Hong Kong is suffering enormous loss in retail sales and tourism. Travelers have been advised in a warning by the World Health Organization to postpone travel to Hong Kong.

To this day in Hong Kong, 1,674 persons have been infected with SARS and 212 people have died.
