Surge in Japan's broadband

Japan's telecom ministry stated that national Internet access providers had a combined 9,397,426 broadband subscribers as of the end of March, more than double the 3,861,195 figure of a year ago.

According to DigiTimes, the figures give the country a near 20 percent broadband penetration.
