The Japanese embassy in Beijing has advised its roughly 3,000 students studying abroad in Beijing to return to Japan. Contrary to some thoughts that SARS might be coming under control, many universities in Beijing are quarantining their students. Some only allow students to travel off campus with a permit. The Japanese government is worried about the spread of SARS to its students in China's capital. Japan also extended a travel advisory to those interested in traveling anywhere in China.
