Japan's banks to post year-end losses

In the fiscal year-end wrap up on March 31, 2003, the top seven banking groups in Japan are poised to post net losses. According to Japanese media reports, these losses come as a result of decreased stock prices and increased disposal of their enormous bad loans. Later this month, these banking groups are expected to downscale their projected earnings for the coming fiscal year.
