India launches largest-ever anti-polio campaign
In collaboration with the World Health Organization and Unicef, Indian health authorities launched one of the largest-ever immunization drives in the world to protect children against polio.
More than 1.3 million public health workers, teachers, and volunteers started carrying the anti-polio vaccine to remote villages and urban slums in northern India on Sunday.
The hope is to reach an estimated 165 million children over the next six days in India; in particular, every unprotected child under five years.
