US Navy ready to respond in Japan
AFAR
12/30/2002

US Navy squadrons stationed in Japan are planning night loading exercises more than one month ahead of originally scheduled. The squadrons will be aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kittyhawk in the port of Yokosuka and Iwojima Island from January 10 through the 19, 2003. Inside military sources believe the advance was brought on by the potential threat of North Korea’s purported nuclear operations and weapons development. In this case, US Navy would be prepared to respond.
