The South Korean government has decided to open dialogue regarding a possible revision of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) this week. Namely, the Korean Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Trade and National Defense will meet with the US Consul and the 8th Army Commander.

President Kim recently received US Senators Inouye and Stevens, and reportedly stated his hope for the US Congress’ active cooperation in making revisions to SOFA as well as for those who bear responsibility for the two schoolgirls’ deaths to step forward.
